Japan provides $58.4 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

The Japanese Embassy in Kabul has announced that it has provided $58.4 million in humanitarian aid and essential assistance to those in need in Afghanistan.

On Monday, the embassy said on its social media platform X that the country intends to provide additional assistance packages to Afghanistan.

According to the Japanese Embassy in Kabul, “We hope this assistance will contribute to the preservation and improvement of the dignified and self-reliant lives of the Afghan people.”

Furthermore, the embassy emphasized that it is providing $58.4 million in humanitarian aid and essential assistance to ensure the well-being of the people of Afghanistan.

It’s worth noting that Japan has provided humanitarian assistance to those in need in Afghanistan before.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Japan’s total contributions over the past two years have reached $447 million.

The Japanese Embassy in Kabul added that this aid would be channelled through international relief organizations and non-governmental institutions in the necessary sectors.

This comes as several international organizations have warned of budget shortages and an increase in the humanitarian needs of the people in Afghanistan.
